Moving home in Gillingham, Dorset
Johnson’s of Shaftesbury helps households move into, out of and around Gillingham. Established in 1855, our team can arrange a complete house move, help with packing or handle a smaller load. Our storage facilities beside Gillingham Station also give you an option when your moving dates do not line up.
Start by telling us your collection and delivery addresses, the size of your home and your preferred dates. Let us know about stairs, restricted parking, long walks from the door to the vehicle and any large or delicate items. These details help us plan the crew, vehicle and time your move needs.
Choose the help you need
- Home removals for a local move or a longer journey across the UK.
- Packing support if you would like help protecting and preparing your belongings.
- Smaller moves for part loads, smaller homes or individual items.
- Office and business moves, with equipment and access requirements discussed in advance.
Storage beside Gillingham Station
If you need to clear your current home before you can move into the next one, we can discuss storage as part of the move. Container storage suits belongings you do not need to access regularly: collection, loading, an inventory and sealed storage can be arranged together.
Drive-up self storage is another option if you expect to add or remove items more often. Our storage guide explains the two choices. Tell us what you plan to store and how often you need access so the team can explain suitable space, availability and access arrangements.
Planning your moving day
Even a short journey across Gillingham needs preparation. Tell us where a removal vehicle can stop at both addresses, which furniture may need dismantling and whether keys or completion times could affect access. Keep essential documents, medication and anything you need immediately separate from the main load.
If your date is not yet confirmed, explain that when you enquire. The team can discuss the next steps and what information is needed before a booking can be confirmed.
